Within the scope of the İzmir NIC project, with the purpose of commercialisation and internationalisation of innovative products by developing strategic networks and partnerships, the event titled “Grow with AI (Artificial Intelligence / Accelerate Izmir)” was held on 9 November 2022 at the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Entrepreneurship Centre.
İzmir NIC Project Coordinator Miray Şanlı Taşkın, Technical Assistance Team Leader David Tee and Commercialisation Key Expert Gökhan Çelebi offered information on the Accelerate Izmir Programme run as part of the İzmir NIC Project, which supports selected startups in many areas such as training, mentoring, access to markets, legal service support, investor meetings and networking activities. Following this introductory session, Dr Gültekin Gürdal – Research Ecosystems and Hasan Erkan – Sade Labs took part as speakers in the Fireside Chat session. In the afternoon, Dr Tolga Ayav and Gökhan Çelebi continued the event with the session titled “How Can You Grow Your Business with Artificial Intelligence?“.
Within the scope of networking activities, which is one of the objectives of the programme, the participants talked about their sectors and interchanged experiences with each other. There followed a session where Mehmet İlem and Hasan Erkan from Sade Labs, and Dr Gültekin Gürdal from Research Ecosystem, two successful companies from the previous cohort, shared their experiences through the programme. The session concluded interactively, with the participants asking questions regarding the programme.
In the last session of the day, Dr Tolga Ayav talked about artificial intelligence and its widespread use in daily life. He then made evaluations of different industries and sectors relying on artificial intelligence for a time-efficient operation. Gökhan Çelebi touched upon special solutions produced with artificial intelligence, as well as the recent global trends in various sectors. Orçun Yalçın discussed Reengen Energy‘s work in the field of artificial intelligence and the services it offers to clients who want to include the use of artificial intelligence in their workflows. The event, which served as a platform for entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses with artificial intelligence, provided valuable gains for the participants.
İzmir NIC – İzmir Network and Innovation Centre Project
İzmir Network and Innovation Centre (İzmir NIC) Project, is implemented by Teknopark İzmir within the scope of the Ministry of Industry and Technology Competitive Sectors Programme, realised with the financial support of the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, aiming to enhance the commercialisation and internationalisation of innovative products, by fostering networks and strategic partnership among relevant stakeholders. The project, focusing on ICT and RE sectors, which are among the pioneers of economic development; aims to increase the capacities of innovation ecosystem actors (SME, Start-up, TTO, TGB, R&D Centres, etc.) in İzmir through training, Acceleration programmes, mentoring support, and networking activities.
The project, implemented with partners İzmir Institute of Technology (İYTE) and the Software Industrialists Association (YASAD), will run for 3 years.
