Within the scope of Accelerate Izmir, Birmingham City University was visited by the Teknopark Izmir NIC team. Dr. Begüm Samur Teraman who works as an academician in the field of Strategy and Business Development at the university was visited and a discussions was held with Dr. Samur Teraman on possible colaborations
The Steamhouse located in the area of Birmingham City University was visited and information about the region was obtained from Richard Scutt. Steamhouse is providing support to companies of all sizes and it is offering production and prototyping facilities for technologists, artists, designers, scientists and innovators. Its activities bringing together the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Prof. Metin Tanoglu and the team also visited Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Birmingham. Information about the center was received from Stuart Bailey, the possible colaborations were discussed. MTC has the most advanced manufacturing equipments in the world. It is offering a high-quality environment for the development and demonstration of new technologies on an industrial scale. It is specialised especially on Automation abd Robotics, Digital Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing and Intelligent Automation. Within the scope of the visit, production areas and laboratories were examined.
