Within the scope of İzmir NIC Corporate Cooperate-Startup Networking Event, Corporate Company Representatives met with Accelerate İzmir and ClassBoom startups at Teknopark İzmir on September 19, 2023. In the event, it was aimed for corporate firms to convey the opportunities offered to startups and entrepreneurs and possible joint activities to be developed. Also, startups had the opportunity to listen to these opportunities one-to-one and shared their business plans and future goals with corporate companies.
The program started with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Metin Tanoğlu, General Manager of Teknopark İzmir and Senior Manager of İzmir NIC, about Teknopark İzmir and the entrepreneurship activities. Prof. Dr. Tanoğlu emphasized the power of Teknopark İzmir, which has a very important impact on the entrepreneurship ecosystem of İzmir and the country, and carried it to the international dimension. In the continuation of the program, Teknopark İzmir Entrepreneurship Specialist Burçak İlter Timurçin gave general information about the project and conveyed the adventure of 2 periods carried out within the scope of Accelerate izmir to the participants.
In the second session of the event, one-to-one meetings were started to be held. Tuba Gökcan, Merve Gürses and Kerim Öztürk from Anadolu Efes, Güney Kaya from BSH, Seher Özdemir from FEV, Enis Cilasun and Gencer Özdamar from Gediz Elektrik, Ayşe Şen from İnci Holding, Özge Gönlügür from İş Bank, Batuhan Baybalı from Sabancı Holding, Burcu Kara from Siemens, Burak Baydeniz from SOCAR, Emre Dalarslan from THY, Ayşen Nisa Akgün from Vestel and Serdar Doğrusöz from Vodafone met with entrepreneurial companies as representatives of corporate companies.
18 corporates and startups who took part in the event met one-to-one in 20 minutes for each meeting. Also, startups had the chance to discover their potential and develop their ideas by receiving feedback from highly experienced authorities while introducing their business ideas and companies to corporate representatives. Within the scope of İzmir NIC Corporate-Startup Networking Event, 124 one-to-one meetings were held. Accelerate İzmir companies will continue their business ties with corporate company representatives with the meetings held after the event.
İzmir NIC – İzmir Network and Innovation Centre Project
İzmir NIC, which is carried out by Teknopark İzmir within the scope of Competitive Sectors Programme implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, aims to increase the commercialization and internationalization of innovative products by developing strategic networks and partnerships among relevant stakeholders. Focusing on Information and Communication Technologies and Renewable Energy sectors, which are among the pioneers of economic development, the aim of the project is to increase the capacity of the innovation ecosystem actors (SME, Start-Up, TTO, TGB, R&D Centres, etc.) in İzmir through trainings, acceleration and mentoring support and networking activities. aims to develop the project, implemented with the participation of İzmir Institute of Technology (İYTE) and Software Industrialists Association (YASAD), is planned to be completed in 3 years.
