The second meeting of the Izmir NIC Ecosystem Development Programme was held on April 13, 2022 at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel as part of the İzmir NIC Project, implemented by Teknopark İzmir. The Partnership Strategy Development Meetings, the first of which was held on March 9, 2022 with the participation of The Honourable Yavuz Selim Köşger, Governor of the Municipality of Izmir, continues to bring together representatives of ecosystem actors in Izmir and the region.

The “Izmir NIC Ecosystem Development Programme” is conducted as part of the İzmir NIC Project, which is financed through financial cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and implemented by Teknopark Izmir. The Project’s aims include to contribute to the development of the Izmir entrepreneurship ecosystem, as well as to aid in the commercialisation and internationalisation processes of innovative technology companies.

The Partnership Strategy Development Meeting II was opened with the inaugural address of Teknopark Izmir General Manager and SRER of İzmir NIC Project, Prof. Dr. Metin Tanoğlu. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Tanoğlu pointed out the aims and objectives of the İzmir NIC Ecosystem Development Programme. The meeting resumed with a presentation by İzmir NIC Technical Assistance Team Leader, David Tee.

The meeting was held under the moderation and facilitation of Ms. Zühal Selçuk, which had 45 influential representatives from the region’s entrepreneurship ecosystem actors in attendance. The meeting was concluded with a session that saw the distribution of tasks for upcoming meetings, as well as suggestions and feedbacks from the participants. The following three meetings will be held in April and May.

İzmir NIC – İzmir Network and Innovation Centre Project

 

İzmir Network and Innovation Centre (İzmir NIC) Project, is implemented by Teknopark İzmir within the scope of the Ministry of Industry and Technology Competitive Sectors Programme, realised with the financial support of the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, aiming to enhance the commercialisation and internationalisation of innovative products, by fostering networks and strategic partnership among relevant stakeholders. The project, focusing on ICT and RE sectors, which are among the pioneers of economic development; aims to increase the capacities of innovation ecosystem actors (SME, Start-up, TTO, TGB, R&D Centres, etc.) in İzmir through trainings, Acceleration programmes, mentoring support, and networking activities.

The project, implemented with partners İzmir Institute of Technology (İYTE) and the Software Industrialists Association (YASAD), will run for 3 years.
