The fourth and final Needs Assessment Analysis workshop, focusing on improving access to international markets, with an emphasis on ICT and Renewable Energy sectors, was held successfully on Friday, October 15, in Urla. The session was opened by the İzmir NIC Project Coordinator Miray Şanlı Taşkın. In her opening address where she introduced the aims and scope of Izmir NIC Project, Ms. Şanlı announced the objective and expected outcomes of the workshop and thanked the attendees for their interest in the Project. Following, the opening speech, the session continued with a presentation by Technical Assistance Team Leader David Tee about the Accelerate Izmir programme, which is designed to support of the growth of businesses both nationally and internationally, in ICT and Renewable Energy sectors. Mr. Tee, shared further information about the services to be offered including dedicated coaching and commercialisation roadmap development, training, investment support, internationalisation, marketing and IPR protection.

In the following session, workshop moderator explained the methodology of the workshop. Later on, team moderators were introduced who led the breakout sessions. In the breakout sessions, the participants listed their ideas and possible solutions to the well-defined problems in their respective sectors, on sticky notes which were selected and put on boards by breakout moderators.

The event was opened to ICT and RE innovators, business organisations, corporates and interested academics to discuss globalisation, internationalisation and access to sources to ensure growth in international markets.
